Gregg Satterlee invited to Eldora for Intercontinental Classic

After promoters and race officials were forced to postpone the 50th annual World 100 to 2021, Gregg Satterlee was one of 48 Late Models invited to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday night to compete in the Intercontinental Classic. Gaining three spots in his heat race, Satterlee recorded a seventh place finish, transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Passing four cars to finish second behind Cory Hedgecock, Gregg locked into the 21st-starting position for the A-Main. With $10,000 on the line, Satterlee suffered a flat left-rear tire on lap 19 that dropped him back to 17th. (Zach Yost photo)

The following night for another $10,000-to-win preliminary feature, Gregg faded three spots in his heat race to record a 14th place outing. Sending the Top 3 from the B-Main into the A-Main, Satterlee fell short with a 14th place outing.

With preliminary results from Thursday and Friday setting the grid for the heat races on Saturday, Satterlee gained two spots in the 15-lapper to finish sixth. Rolling off fourth in his B-Main for one final shot at the $50,000-to-win Intercontinental Classic, Gregg came one spot shy of a transfer position with a fourth place finish.
